Trained throughout her career by Stuart Edmunds and racing in the colours of the Far Bihoue Partnership, Marsh Wren developed from a promising young mare into an exceptionally tough and talented performer.
From just 16 starts under Rules, she recorded an outstanding 9 victories, alongside 2 seconds and 2 thirds — finishing in the first three on 13 occasions.
After winning on her racecourse debut in 2021, Marsh Wren went on to win four times over hurdles before finding another level when sent chasing.
She made a winning chase debut at Warwick in November 2023 and quickly established herself as a high-class mare over fences.
In February 2024, Marsh Wren travelled to Ireland for the first time and produced one of the defining performances of her career, making virtually all to win the Listed Colreevy Mares Novice Chase at Thurles.
Just three weeks later came her biggest stage.
The Cheltenham Festival.
Sent off at 25/1 in the Grade 2 Mares’ Chase, Marsh Wren produced another superb performance to finish third, confirming her place amongst the leading mares of her generation.
Later that year she returned after more than eight months away from the racecourse and delivered perhaps her most dominant performance.
Stepping up to three miles at Market Rasen, Marsh Wren made all and powered 16 lengths clear of Grade 1 winner Apple Away to claim another Listed victory.
It was her ninth career win.
Marsh Wren raced for the final time at Market Rasen in November 2025, finishing third in Listed company before injury ultimately brought her racing career to an end.
