Profile: Charlus arrived to us in February 2026 from Champion trainer in Ireland Willie Mullins. Charlus had a very successful flat career in France as a youngster where he won 3 from 4 starts on the all weather for J C Rouget where his only defeat came at the hands of Group 1 winner Sibayan.
Charlus was then purchased for 315,000euro to go into training with master of Closutton Willie Mullins. During his time with Mullins Charlus was a winner of his juvenile hurdle and took his chance in the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham festival finishing down the field. He was then raced as a dual purpose horse taking his chances in both jumps racing and flat racing run to a very high level under both codes.
We were able to purchase Charlus at the February online sale to go into training with DanSkelton. Charlus gave our owners great days out at both the Cheltenham Festival and the Aintree Grand National Festival.
Now turning to the 26/27 jumps season Charlus has been regaining his confidence with the Champion Trainer Dan Skelton. We have options of both hurdles and flat races as he is highly rated in both codes. He will be alot of fun for us over the coming years.
